NAME: Marine(mah-reehn) Ruin. There are any number of nicknames for her, Rine being preferred and Mary detested.
GENDER: Female. This cannot be doubted.
AGE: Youngling, and she certainly acts like it.
SPECIES: Feline (Snow Leopard)
RANK: Marine is a youngling mainly found wandering the streets of her village, not unlike the urchins of 1800s Paris.
EYE COLOR: Marine's eyes are a dark, blue green, dark enough to look black.
FUR COLOR: Paler grey, with thick scatters of black rosettes.
ELEMENTS: None, though Marine finds herself attracted to Light Water users. Sometimes it seems that the small creatures of the sea are murmuring to her when she takes a swim.
DESCRIPTION: Marine is quite little, with a slight tremor in her paws and an excitable air that never leaves. Her features are finely drawn, if a little ragged from constant time spent roaming about. The leopard is often clad in tawdry finery, like that of a captain. The poor pirate she stole them from was quite surprised when he awoke naked.
The snowy's eyes appear black at first glance, but upon further inspection they're really just dark blue green. When the sun is shining in Marine's eyes they'll seem to be pieces of the sea itself, layered with subtle rings of aqua.
Her fur is a lighter gray than Arland's, like the sky when overcast. It's thickly blotted by spatters of midnight-black rosettes, and retains winter thickness most of the time. The gray shifts colors slightly on Marine's paws and tail, darkening by a few shades. Of course, she's never taken the time to consider any of this, and her fur is generally grubby and in an alarming state of disarray.
The youngling's voice is clear and high, as would be expected from one her age. It emanates from a mouth that had somehow managed to keep its teeth white, mostly joking and laughing, and occasionally breaking into a ditty that would make any respectable mother lock her children away. She's taken to conversing in language rendered un-understandable by strangers, so filled with jargon and strange phrases as it is. Slim whiskers dot her muzzle, quivering often.
PERSONALITY: The slight leopard's innocent look doesn't stop her from playing with various weapons rolled from drunken felines. Marine doesn't house any ruthlessness or cruelty within her; that's not to say innocent looks mean the same underneath. She's mischievous, with a taste for anything exciting to do. Stealing is second nature to her, with living on the streets being first. Oh, she has a home, but it appears to be the most boring place the snowy had ever had the misfortune to stand in.
Where were we? Oh, weapons. If a passed out feline happens to be in Rine's line of sight, checking them for anything interesting is what will happen without exception.
She's picked up quite a few guns and blades this way, but her favorite is a simple pair of single action six round revolvers. The leopard also lifts ammo, and hides her goods in the cellar of an abandoned house.
Marine is good enough with the use of her various guns and blades, despite her age. Given her size, it's a good thing her revolvers are small.
Rine is always cheerful, whatever the situation. Someone could be shooting at her and she'd be singing off-key, while reloading her guns. Rather than be a victim, she's resourceful and fearless to the point of stupidity. Maybe it's because the little feline is quick on her paws and quicker with her revolvers.
The snowy's friends are in luck, because she's the one that will help out with anything, whether it's rolling some drunks in an alley or getting out of a tight spot with pirates. Greed doesn't motivate Marine(she does shady favors only for the thrill of courting death in the form of angry cats), rather, she steals weapons out of curiosity. Having pulled apart various guns, searching for someone else's exotic firearm is a worthy enough endeavor for her. Just the little things in life that bring her happiness.
The snow leopard is terrible at taking orders, which would make her equally bad at serving on a ship. Rather than stay and argue about something, Rine'll simply dart off to do things her way. Perhaps solo pirating and adventuring on land would be more appropriate.
HISTORY: Were Marine's life to flash before her eyes, there wouldn't be much to see. She'd recall growing up for a year or three, basking in the lack of attention from her mother. Then, there are the sporadic visits from her father, Arland. And after that, taking to the streets armed only with a butter knife and her claws. Her long term memory tends to take a back seat, Rine's mind being occupied by whatever she's stealing at the moment.
Around the time the snowy found her revolvers, she was hired by some of the older street wanderers to acquire ammo for their duels and fights and whatnot. She's paid in small coins for every pouch full, which is enough to get her some kibbles at the local tavern.
EQUIPMENT: Marine has a small, ragged coat taken from a passed out serval. It's sown with shiny threads and is sufficiently tawdry for the leopard, with various rips in the purple cloth. The inside pockets make decent storage for the ammo of her twin revolvers.
The aforementioned guns are crafted of simple gray steel, the barrels notched seven times on each to mark the lives it's taken. Not by Rine, though; she mainly shoots to wound, albeit in painful places. The firearms, to be more specific, are single action six round revolvers.
The leopard also keeps a simple pendant necklace from Arland. It's a plain silver chain, with a polished chunk of an unidentified sea-green stone. It doesn't quite match Marine's eyes, but the youngling isn't into quibbling.
RELATIONSHIPS: Rine's relationship with her mother is rather cold. The leopardess merely took care of her daughter till she could scrounge for her own food, then took to an unfortunate habit of ignoring the youngling. Marine doesn't care, either. Her happiness isn't measured by how much affection she gets.
Rine is on better terms with her father, who gave her the necklace she wears often. In exchange, the slight snowy will present Arland with choice weapons from her stash, which in her young mind is wonderful.
